2 Samuel 8,15 (NIV)

"David reigned over all Israel, doing what was just and right for all his people."

Justice: What is that? What does this word mean?

According to wikipedia,

"Justice is the legal or philosophical theory by which fairness is administered." (source:

I especially like the word "fairness" in this phrase. What is still fair in this world?

Is war fair? Is disease fair? Is poverty fair? Are people always treating each other fairly?

And what about God? Is he just or fair?
I think, he is. He created heaven and earth. He made people. He made us.
God is holy. Since he cannot see sin, he sent Jesus, his son, to die for our sins on a cross. He was resurrected on the third day and is now with God again.

God loved us enough to sacrifice his son for us. He loves us so much. So, how come that we do not love each other? Why do we always fight each other? Why do we suffer wrong from others or do wrong to others? I wonder why.

Maybe we can think about that when we go to our workplace, or school, or university, or when we are in our families, among our friends, and especially among our enemies.

Not one of us is always treated fairly. And we don't always treat others fairly.

So next time around, remember: God is just. He treats you fairly. So why don't you try and treat others fairly as well?
God would love it.

"Many small people, in small places, doing small things can change the world."
Eduardo Galeano
